One Chance

Control.

It’s amazing how much of it we give up.

So many outside influences that we allow to make or break our spirit, or enhance and deflate our emotions. So much of who we are is scattered amongst what we have and what we should be. And they wonder why the depression rate is at record levels?

Know that nothing can bring you down but yourself.  They can call you names, say you’ll never make it, take your love for granted, but in the end you hold the ultimate decision of how you feel.

By no means does this say to just get over your emotions and not have a time of mourning. On the contrary, this is the time when you should embrace how you feel the most. Yes, something may have caused you pain, but do not let the person or object keep control of you. Realize this is how you feel and take responsibility for your emotions.

This was inspiring. I like your writing. it feels as if it is coming from the heart. I agree with the statement you posted about people being able to take everything from you, but your spirit. We as humans can never let go of that! Keep up the good work! JLA
